French vintage card prices have increased 40 to 80% since 2023, versus 10 to 20% for English cards over the same period
I will admit, it is a good bit of work at the beginning and does require a bit of upkeep (adding new, deleting old, editing, etc.), but the payoff (building teams without ever handling a figure, and changing decklists on the fly) is amazing to me
I could have probably identified a Pikachu or a Pok Ball if pressed at that time but the Pokmon franchise largely remained a mystery to me, and one that I largely perceived to be little more than kids' stuff
TCG has had plenty of rare and pricey cards in the modern meta, but there are also plenty of retro cards that have increased in price over the years
